What do I need to do to switch to Amelix?
Absolutely nothing, the fact you have made the decision to switch your phone, broadband or hosting needs to Amelix will mean that you've probably already spoken to one of our team. We do everything so all you need to do is sit back and relax. Sometimes your current provider may require you to inform them in writing that you're leaving. Don't worry we'll let you know if you need to do this.
I'm in contract with my current supplier but want to switch to Amelix Telecom?
We don’t want you to be faced with any large early termination fees from your current supplier. If you give our team a call we'll take a look at your contract for you. We may be able to switch some services now and others at the end of your contract.
How long will it take to switch my phone service to Amelix?
It really depends on what type of phone line you have and what contract you are in. Typically, it takes about 10 days to switch all your services over to Amelix. However, a lot will depend on how busy the Openreach engineers are at your exchange and what needs to be done. We give an anticipated switch over date as soon as we get one.
Will I need to change my number or install any new equipment?
No, we will do a like for like transfer on your phone line so nothing will change for you. Apart from your bill that is, it will be a lot lower! When we transfer your lines we'll also transfer your current services as well. We'll advise you of the date when your line goes live with us and you can carry on using your services as normal. You will also be able to see all your activity via our control panel. If you are migrating your broadband to us you will need to change your username and password in your router but one of our team is on hand to talk you through this should you need some help.
I am not with BT can I still switch to Amelix?
On the whole anyone can switch to our phone and broadband packages. Some companies don't use the BT Openreach network as they have their own equipment in the BT Openreach exchanges. We can move your phone line on to our network but your current supplier may impose a charge which sadly we will have to pass on to you. This isn't usually the case, so get in touch, and we'll let you know if it does.
How can you sell BTs products cheaper than BT?
We don’t want to bore you with a long history lesson but in 1998 the government deregulated the telecoms industry. At this point BT were split in to two separate companies known today as BT retail (who currently send you a bill) and Openreach (who maintain all the lines on the network for BT and also act as a wholesaler)
Amelix Telecom have made significant key partnerships that allow us to buy in bulk. We literally buy millions of minutes every month from Openreach who act as a wholesaler of telephone services. We've also spent a lot of time and money moving our services online. You can see and control everything from the Amelix Telecom control panel. This means the time you need to spend contacting us should be kept minimal.
Amelix Telecom don't carry the same overheads as many of the big Telecoms companies. We couldn’t afford expensive TV advertising campaigns or sponsor the Xfactor, so what we do is pass on these savings to you!
I get free minutes with my current supplier?
There is no such thing as a free phone call, you will be paying for it somewhere else. If your current supplier offers you free weekend calls or evening calls you will be paying more for the other calls you make. Why not send us your phone bill and we will show you where your current supplier is making the money from you for your “Free” Calls?
A lot of companies charge high connection fees or a minimum call charge fees. We believe in being honest and transparent with all our fees and don’t want to hide charges in your bill for the promise of free calls.
Why don't you insist on long contracts?
It’s simple, we live and breathe by our customer service. We want you to stay with us because you want to, not because we have tied you into a 3 or 5 year contract.
There are some benefits we can pass on if you sign a contract for 12 or 24 months with us and we can pass some savings on with your calls. Also some services will require a minimum 12 month contract for example on things like ISDN calls.
Where possible we are happy to keep you on a standard 30 day rolling contract, it also keeps us on our toes as we know if we don’t live up to your expectations you can go elsewhere easily and we dont want that!
What if something goes wrong?
We use Openreach to maintain and service all our lines so you are buying into their massive infrastructure of highly trained engineers. If your line does develop a fault simply call our office, we can run checks from our data centre and, if needs be, dispatch an Openreach engineer to your exchange or property to investigate the fault.
I want to pay my bill how can I?
Full details on how to pay your bill should be on the bottom of your bill. You can pay us via BACS (Sending a payment from your online banking) simply setup Amelix Telecom as a third party payee and send your payment to us. Please use your invoice number as a reference.

Can I have a job?
All our jobs are advertised in the local job centre but also on our central recruitment page that can be found on the main Amelix Group website.
